Grandfather Mountain NC Dollar Days is a blast for the whole family and one of the best attractions that you can find in High Country NC. Grandfather Mountain North Carolina is one of the top attractions in North Carolina and offers families the opportunity to get in for only $1 during the month of April if you go to school or live in Watuaga, Avery, Alleghany, Mitchell, Wlkes, or Ashe counties. You can even bring a guest for your $1 fee. All you have to do to visit the Grandfather Mountain Mile High Bridge during Dollar Days is to show proof of residency from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. Grandfather Mountain is a great NC High Country Attraction close to Spruce Pine NC, Boone NC, and Blowing Rock NC.

The 30th Annual Trout Derby in Blowing Rock North Carolina is an incredibly fun two day fishing event. This NC Trout Fishing festival is one of the Fun Things NC High Country locals and visitors will want to make sure to check out. Prizes will be offered for the biggest fish and will be seperated by age categories. There is no entry fee required for the North Carolina High Country event. Blowing Rock NC is located in Watauga NC and offers something for everyone. The Blowing Rock American Legion Building on Wallingford Street will be the trout derby headquarters for fish weigh-in. Any children 11 years of age or younger, and persons with disabilities, can try their hand fishing at Broyhill Park's Mayview Lake. For the trout derby, there is a 3 fish limit per participant per day at Mayview Lake. All anglers participating in the event must have a NC Fishing License follow all North Carolina Fishing Regulations. Freshly caught North Carolina Trout from Watauga County NC public trout waters are the only fish eligible for entry into the derby. Make sure to visit Spruce Pine North Carolina and the ton of other fun Things to do in Blowing Rock NC while you are in town. Some of the Blowing Rock NC Attractions include Bass Lake, The Blowing Rock, and Appalachain Ski Mountain.

| Easter Extravaganza at Appalachian Ski Mountain |

Bring the the whole family to the Easter Extravaganza at Appalachian Ski Mountain in Blowing Rock NC. You will want to be sure to bring a camera to take a bunch of pictures of the children finding their perfect eggs. Join the Easter Bunny for pictures on the Appalachian Ski Slopes and partake in the two children’s Easter Egg Hunts. There will be a ton of hidden prizes including a special Easter Brunch and 2010-11 Junior Season Membership to Appalachian Ski Mtn. There will be more than 1000 Easter Eggs filled with hidden prizes and candy. The eggs will be spread throughout the Appalachian Ski Resort Intermediate slope Strudel and will begin at 9:30 am for riders and skiers of ages 6-12. After the Easter Egg Hunt at 11:30 am, children of ages 5 years old and under can find Easter Eggs on the grassy hill next to the Appalachian Ice Skating Arena. The Easter Egg toss will begin at 2:00 pm for children 12 years of age and older. There will be egg toss prizes for longest toss and biggest splash. The Appalachian Ski Mtn Restaurant will offer a fantastic Easter Brunch with a bunch of delicious options.
