hone rock climbing skills. Popular areas for climbing are Table Rock, The Amphitheatre, The North Carolina Wall, Shortoff Mountain, Hawksbill Mountain, and Gold Coast Cliffs. Sometimes, however, climbing is not allowed,
and the areas close due to the nesting of rare Peregrine Falcons. Hunting however, is allowed, in season, and game animals like deer and turkey thrive in abundance. Hunters are asked to follow the guidelines and state regulations put forth by the North Carolina Wildlife Resources Commission. Also, fishermen love the Linville Gorge NC for its enormous fishing options. Trout, bass, and other native mountain fish thrive in the Linville River’s crystal clear waters.
